Joshua Fried is a New York–based music associate, associate music director, and copyist for film and musical theatre.
In film, he has worked as the Music Associate on KPop Demon Hunters, Post-Production Music Assistant on Disney’s Snow White, and on the music teams for The Deb (dir. Rebel Wilson), and the upcoming film Man With The Bag. In the studio, he works alongside music producers, actors, and directors, focusing mainly on score preparation and supporting in-the-room musical needs.
His theatre experience includes Associate Music Director for The Heart (La Jolla Playhouse) and Associate Copyist for Days of Wine and Roses (Atlantic Theater Company). Other theatre credits include Keyboard Sub for Fiddler on the Roof (Paper Mill Playhouse), Associate Copyist for the 2023 national tour of Company, and Arranger & Copyist for The 68th Annual Drama Desk Awards. Josh is passionate about developmental theatre and has worked on numerous workshops including La La Land, The Pursuit of Happyness, and Little Miss Perfect.
Josh’s work also extends to live events and podcasts, including copyist and transcription work for My Chemical Romance’s Long Live The Black Parade 2025 Tour and The New York Times’ Serial podcast The Good Whale.
He is a proud graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.
